As a child of God, Confirmation is a wonderful and vital part of your development in the Christian Faith. It is a time where you will be learning, growing, and be nurtured in the grace God has so freely given to you through faith in Christ Jesus. We encourage you to follow and keep this covenant during your confirmation studies. By completing these objectives, you will be eligible for confirmation:Attend classes.
o If you can’t attend, it will by your responsibility to schedule a make up class through Mrs. Shayla prior to the next scheduled class.
Participate in class.
o Bring a Bible, class notebook, Here We Stand handbook.
o Ask questions
o Sermon notes: to be taken, discussed in class, & kept in your notebook
o Memorization:
First year - the books of the Bible
Second year - parts of the Small Catechism
Attend Church and Sunday School regularly.
If you attend with a friend or family elsewhere, please bring a bulletin.
Participate in Enrichment Activities
Service Projects and Tweener Activities
Attend Lutheran Youth Events: AFFIRM, Lutheridge, Lutherock, All
Tennessee, Conference Retreats, etc
Other opportunities of community outreach with friends and family
We will schedule a meeting near the end of the first semester to assess your progress, answer questions, and address any areas where improvement may be indicated. First year students will reassess progress at the end of the spring semester as well.
Confirmation is a time for study, but it is also a time to have fun as we learn and grow in our God-given faith, and get to know each other better. Our hope and prayer is that all of us will have an enriching experience as we continue to be nurtured in the faith and grace God has given to us.
