It has been said that the church is only one generation away from
extinction... and we here at Fjeldberg want to make sure that never
happens! We gather to learn, to experience fellowship, and to
discuss what being a follower of Jesus Christ is all about.

YOUTH LIFE
Living as a community of hope. Acts 2:42-47
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH COUNCIL
Youth, this is your ministry. How do you want to impact this community? What are the needs you see? What fun events would help excite people about their faith? As a member of the youth council, you would help make these decisions as you grow in your faith. There are openings on the following teams that make up our Youth Council.

Special Events Team
> Plan and Coordinate Mime
> Plan and Coordinate Youth Sunday

Service Team
> Help choose and plan our summer service trip.
> Help plan our service projects throughout the year.

PEER MINISTRY TRAINING
The amount of tough issues that young people face each day--divorced parents, peer pressure, sexual pressures, to name a few--is stunning and when youth face these issues, the first person they often turn to is another youth. Peer Ministry training is an intentional way of training youth who want to know what to do when their friends are struggling.  If as a youth, you would like to be trained as a Peer Minister, please let Anders know. When Sunday School begins, we will get the group of interested youth together and decide a date to start. We will most likely meet between 6:00 and 7:30. If you are an adult who sees the value in this ministry and would like to help, please let Anders know as well.
PRE-CONFIRMATION
6:30 - 7:15 p.m.
Each class, K-5th grade, will spend two or three weeks learning with a parent or a sponsor about God, the church, and each other. Led by Pastor Tim and Anders.
First Group: 3rd Grade
Sept. 8th, 15th and 22nd.
Topic: God's word and you

As part of our three week pre-confirmation course, our third graders will prepare to receive their new youth bibles. We’ll learn about the Bible, how to read it, and how it can help us in our lives. Then on September 26th, the 3rd graders will receive their new Bibles during the worship services.

HIGH SCHOOL PARENT/YOUTH KICK-OFF MEETING
Calling all parents and students! We will be having an orientation for the 2010 and 2011 Youth Ministry on September 19th at 5:00. We will talk about our ministry for the upcoming year and how parents and youth can be involved in helping bring God’s mission to life. After another faith-shaping service trip to Red Lake in July, we are beginning to plan a trip for next summer. So, at this meeting we will also talk about next summer’s trip and participation expectations. If you are interested in going on the service trip, come to this meeting!
CENTER GROVE ORCHARD
An event for youth in grades 3456.
2:00-4:00 on Sept. 26th
Please look ahead to mailings and bulletin announcements for more information. We will meet at Fjeldberg’s north door.
JR. HIGH RIVERSIDE RECHARGE
The Jr. High will be going as a group to Riverside for a weekend of worship, games, Bible study and skits. We will leave from Fjeldberg on Friday, October 22nd at 7:30 pm and arrive back at Fjeldberg at 12:30 pm on the 24th.

There is also a High School Recharge Nov. 19-21. Forms are on the table outside Anders’ office.

CONFIRMATION BEGINS
Our first night of Confirmation class will be on Sept. 8 at 6:30.

September 13th @ 6:30

SERVICE TRIP THANK YOU
The youth and adult leaders who went to Red Lake want to express their extreme thankfulness for all of the support and prayers before, during, and after their trip. We deepened our relationships with each other and with God and were changed by the stories we heard and the hands we held. Thanks be to God!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2010

From June 7th-11th, Fjeldberg was transformed into a high seas adventure where we explored God's mighty love.

Many thanks to all of our volunteers who came out to make this
year's VBS a big success. Over 130 children were in attendance.

Youth Ministries at Fjeldberg...

Sunday Morning Education...

Every Sunday, between the morning services, we have Sunday School
for all ages. Not only do youth learn about Jesus and the Bible,
they learn how to apply faith in their lives.

Confirmation...

As our Baptismal vows stated, the Church will help
provide a solid foundation of faith for our youth as they grow up. Confirmation
(aka confirmation of baptism) is a time to learn what being a Christian is all about...
and to fully understand the need for a solid relationship with Christ. Our 7th & 8th
graders meet weekly on Wednesday nights to grow in their faith.

3456 Event...

This group meets once a month usually on the fourth Sunday of the month for a special event including hanging out, playing games, fellowship, and chilling.
Junior High Thing...
This group meets once a month during the school year at Fjeldberg. All Junior High youth are asked to come and bring friends to learn, play some games, and chill.
Senior High Events
This group meets at least once a month during the school year at Fjeldberg. The high schoolers are welcome to bring friends to learn, play some games, do a service activity, and hang out.
