| | UPDATE on Status - December |
|
. Officially our Charter to operate Venturer Crew 350 expire January 31, 2005. We have not attracted any new members and that means we don't have the youth members to re-Charter, or the money. It was decided by the Venturer Crew Committee to cease operating as a Venturer Crew when the Charter expires.FEAR NOT! We will revert to our former structure as 'The Club for Model Railroading'. We will be an informal group of Hobbyists interested in Model Railraoding in 'HO Scale' without the benefit of the insurance coverage for accident or whatever. We WILL CONTINUE TO MEET to pursue our hobby. We will continue our tie to Troop 350. We will continue to seek new members in the High School age and older. Should we find five or more youth once again, we will reorganize as a Venturer Crew for the many opportunities that offers. If you are interested in a small informal group of Model Railroaders who work on, and operate, a 5'x 9' two level Layout come and see what we are doing. Call our Group Leader, Walter Forst, at (718) 854-0768 to find our when we are meeting and how to find us. May you have a clear track and a high ball for the future! . |

| | | 2004 Amtrak Trip | The Southwest Chief |
In July 2004 a memeber of the Club, Walter Forst, the Advisor, took a trip on Amtrak to a Conference in Cimarron, New Mexico. Here on the site are a few of the photos added to the Photo Section for your enjoyment. The trip started our of New York City's Pennsylvania Station onboard the Lake Shore Limited. Up the Hudson and across New York alongside the Erie Canal to Buffalo. Then also the south shore of two of the Great Lakes into Chicago. From Chicago it was across the Great Plains to the foothills of the western mountais in southeast Colorado and northeast New Mexico. Finally arriving at the Classic Santa Fe Depot at Raton, NM. The return was the same route but in reverse. There were several delays due to the Freight Railroads owning the track the Amtrak train ran on. This summer saw many maintainance projects which slowed each train passing through the project's area. But it was for a railfan a fun time. See the Photo page... . |
