2007 - THIS YEARS'S ACTIVITIES

Fundraiser for China Releif set for June 29th
A special Health Fair and fundraiser has been announced for Sunday, June 29th from 1pm to 5pm. The Fair is to be held in the Auditoriun of the Church at 5406 Fourth Ave. The event is in support of efforts to assist in the China Relief for victums of the hugh Earthquake that struck there in early May.

At this time five physicians and a couple of Nurse have been recruited to be available for consultations and discussions of health related issues during the event. A donation is being saked to participate during the afternoon. There will also be refreshments available for purchase.

More information is available by calling the Church office as the plans are changing almost daily as the date draws near.

DISASTER DONATIONS BEINGS MADE
The Natural Disasters of May have touched the hearts of many. St. Jacobi is joining many other people in collecting donations for the several communities involved/

The Cyclone in Myanmar (Burma); the Tornadoes in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, Arkansas and other US communityes have all occured in the early weeks of May. St. Jacobi sees the need to help.

All donations are being forwarded to the Metro New York Synod to then go to the Lutheran Disaster Releaf Funds established within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, our national Church body,

Collections are specifically being made during the Sunday Services on May 18th, 25th and June 1st. We will continue to welcome donations after June 1st as part of the Sunday Offering. Make sure donations not made during the special offering are clearly maked for the Disaster collections.

We thank those who have already contributed.


CENTRAL BAPTIST CHOIR RETURNS FOR JANUARY CONCERT

This January St. Jacobi was honored to have the Central Baptist Chior return for another concert. Our second Sunday afternoon concert filled the Sanctuary with their unforgettable sounds.

Once again the Choir presentated a vairied selection by the nearly two dozen mambers. We are pleased that they are able to return for another January Concert. We thank them and look forward to their return in the future.

ST. JACOBI CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR

On February 24th the celebration of "The Year of the Rat'for Chinese New Year was held at St Jacobi from 1pm to 3pm. This annual celebration was hosted by St. Jacobi for its members and many friends.

Over 130 attended the early afternoon program of music and Dance to celebrate the year of the Rat. We thank every who helped put the program together and all of those attending to share in the effort for a successful coming year.
