"UNDERSTANDING ISLAM" LECTURE and POTLUCK begins at 5 pm Sunday Nov. 1. A potluck will follow at 6 pm and the second lecture at 7 pm. If there is to be peace, there must first be understanding. These lectures presented by Pastor Steve Benson, who has lived and worked in India and Egypt in Muslim communities and has a degree in Islamic Studies will help attendees understand both the mentality/philosophy of our neighbors and their culture. Sunday School... is for all ages. Our adult class takes on various topics led by various people. We range from about 12-20 participants and the discussion is lively. "Dream. Think. Be. Do." is our fabulous program for HS and young adults. "Godly Play!" is our Montessori based, hands on, art and story- full, program for pre-school through grade 6. "Sojourners" is our program for middle school.
. THE EXPLORER"S CLUB meets the 2nd and 4th Weds. of each month at 7:30 pm. This is a gathering of folks from highly varied faiths and spiritual backgrounds for the purpose of of spiritual growth and lively discussion. Gatherings delve into the deep questions in human life without offering any pat answers. A wide variety of topics, explorations in the arts, and meditation appropriate for people of highly varied spiritual journeys are featured in this group which meets the 2nd and 4th Weds. of each month.
We at TLC are aware that many people are feeling the pressure of difficult economic circumstances these days. The Trinity Council and three people administering the Care Fund want you to know that there is help available to you. A Fund exists to help our members ease the burden of various financial obligations. Simply make your need known to Pastor Dornfeld, another member of the staff at Trinity, or a member of the Church Council and we will do our best to help you lift the burdens you carry. Your contact will remain confidential with the Care Fund Committee.
TWO WORSHIP OPTIONS EACH SUNDAY.... we have traditional Lutheran worship at 8 am and a blended celebration with a wide variety of music at 10 am. ARTIST IN RESIDENCE, Vicki Blake, offers ongoing piano lessons for children age 8 and older as well as adults, and vocal lessons for adults.
