It has come to our attention that many of our congregation members do not know that Immanuel Cares is operating within the church to provide assistance to our members in need when possible. The group is under the auspices of the Parish Nurses and the Wellness Committee and is coordinated by Mary Lou Huckstadt and Annabelle Clark. What does Immanuel Cares do? Essentially, it works like this: Mary Lou has a list of volunteers who are willing to meet needs as they arise. If a family is in need of transportation for medical appointments, temporary help for illness or accident, meals, or other unforeseen events that might arise, Mary Lou or Annabelle is called. They then call people on the list that may be “the best fit” to help. The group also sends cards every month to the shut-ins, hospitalized, those in bereavement, or those celebrating a special occasion. Immanuel Cares joyfully welcome new members!
