A Little About Us |

|
Over 100 years ago, Emmanuel Lutheran Church began as several families felt the desire to gather together for worship in the Lutheran tradition. Now, more than a century later (and in a whole new millenium), families continue to gather here for worship and fellowship. In fact, some of the SAME families are still represented here! And we want you to know that YOUR family is welcome here, too! Whether your descendants date back to the early settlement of the area or if you're brand new in town, we'd like you to consider being part of our spiritual family. Let us tell you a little more about ourselves.
|
Our Mission Statement |
So what is our church all about? Here is the "official" word on that subject."Our mission in the world as Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, a Christian congregation, is to provide loving care and evangelical witness to all people. This congregation understands itself to be both saint and sinner and cares for and witnesses to those who are at the same time saints and sinners."

SAY WHAT??! |
If you said to yourself, "So what does this mean?", you are probably a Lutheran at heart and you should hurry right over here! :-)Actually, that was one of Martin Luther's favorite phrases and our students are taught to ask it frequently. As for our Mission Statement, it means that we try to use the gifts God has given us to serve others and to proclaim the great love that Jesus has for all of us. It also makes clear that we aren't perfect, we don't always do the best job of it, but God loves us still and continues to work through us to reach others with His love. So...what does this mean? (Very good, class!) It means you don't have to be perfect or have all the answers to be a part of us. Bring your questions, bring your doubts...we'll explore them together. | | | Site maintained by: Emmanuel Lutheran emmanuel_reardan@att.net 155 W Cottonwood PO Box 207 Reardan Washington 99029-0207 United States of America Phone: 509-796-2531 Fax: 509-796-2531 |
