As many of you know, Lutheran Social Services dropped its sponsorship of the Once Around Thrift Shop (OATS) in August, 2004. Since that time, All Saints took over leadership of OATS by financial support and volunteer efforts (e.g. numerous volunteer hours by many All Saints members, a grant obtained by Pastor Dinkel, legal work by Dave Frey, and financial help by Ellen Bach). OATS is affiliated with the House of Peace battered women's shelter. This helps them obtain supplies and clothes to face job interviews and establish a new life with hope for the future.
The future of OATS looks promising and we hope to continue our service to those who need low cost items, as well as our give-away program. We continue to need your prayers and material goods. How you can help:
- Donate - children's clothes, toys, household items are in great demand, as are adult clothing and accessories, CD's, records, bedding, linens, magazines, books, portable furniture, tools, and miscellaneous items.
- Volunteer - There are a variety of jobs, one just right for you and on your schedule.
- Monetary donations for supplies.
- Check us out at 1141 Ohio Pike (St. Rte. 125) our hours are
Tuesday - Friday 10:00 - 4:00, Saturday 10:00 - 3:00.
If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, please call 752-2221 to talk to Bev Mayer, the manager of OATS.
