St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lenoir

St. John's Lutheran Church is located at 1781 Taylorsville Road, approximately five miles east of Lenoir, North Carolina. The congregation was officially organized in 1889 by a small group of Lutherans who had been worshipping as a congregation since before 1851. The church building was constructed on the present site in 1889 on land given by members of the congregation.
In the late 1950s, St. John's formed a two-church parish with st. Mark's, Blowing Rock; in 1967 the congregation became self-supporting. In recent years St. John's has been served by interim pastors.
Occupying a picturesque rural setting, St. John's church is small but warm, loving and faithful. The attractive parish hall serves as the center for educational and fellowship activities for the congregation and community.
A congregation of the North Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, St. John's cordially invites you to worship with them and be a part of their Christian witness to the community.
Sunday School begins at 9:45 after light refreshments at 9:30 in the Parish Hall. The worship service follows at 11:00.
