Operation Christmas Child - November 18th
Good Shepherd participated in Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child”for it’s 4th year. What a spiritually rewarding day for the Good Shepherd Sunday School children! Together with the help of the congregation and additional funds from Thrivent for Lutherans the kids were able to prepare 138 beautiful gift boxes filed with toys, school supplies, toiletries, jewelry etc. to be distributed to disadvantaged children in over 90 countries around the world. There was lots of fun, fellowship, hardwork and love that filled the day and the boxes.

Operation Ministry to the Elderly
In 2007 we began a new Project --- “Operation Ministry To The Elderly”. Necessary personal items which the elderly need --- large print Bibles—Devotional booklets --- other books---various gifts ---ETC are collected and placed in wrapped baskets and distributed to those without families living in different Nursing Homes in the area.

Hats off to the Reed Carter, Ciara Fuller and Lily Jones – the 2007 Confirmation class at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Norwalk, CT. They have spent the last few months collecting gifts and preparing 34 lovely, large gift baskets, which will be distributed to the needy/lonely elderly in Norwalk. With funding from the congregation and Thrivent for Lutherans the kids purchased warm throw blankets, perfumes, powders, candies, nuts and all sorts of things to fill their baskets. These baskets will be distributed through Broad River Homes, Laura Raymond Home and Norwalk’s Meals on Wheels program. Thank you kids for seeing a need and fulfilling it with your big hearts and hard work.

Pastor Greene Celebrates 50 Years in the Ministry
Aid to Our Local Community
Good Shepherd makes and ongoing effort to assist our local community. In 2007 we collected $820.00 worth of food to donate to Christian Community Action (CCA) and approximately 92 bags and boxes of clothing to donate to the Norwalk Emergency Shelter as well as CCA.

Good Shepherd's 50th Anniversary
2006 was a Special Year for Good Shepherd. We celebrated our 50th Anniversary. For 50 years we have faithfully served our Lord as a congregation. We have faithfully used our time and talents, material possessions and money:

- To build and strengthen His Kingdom
- To further His Ministry,
- To proclaim His Work.

It is our earnest prayer our Lord has accepted our toils and sacrifices, labors and efforts as a token of our heartfelt gratitude for the Love and Blessing he has and continues to abundantly shower upon us.

On Sunday, September 24, 2006 we had a Special 50th Anniversary Celebration, which proved to be most successful. WE WANT TO THANK SO MANY! Words cannot possibly convey how deeply touched we were by the time and talents --- the material possessions and money --- the love and effort so many contributed to making Good Shepherd’s “50th Anniversary Celebration” the success it was. Many are still talking about this event. It certainly gave our congregation a great boost. A “Special Thank You” to all involved.
