Thank you today to Pastor Schwiesow for bringing our lunch and getting it ready for us.Back door key and computer/library key will be re-keyed by or shortly after Saturday, May 14th. Make sure that you have all your personal possessions removed from our Campus Property by mid-night, May 13th. Our Student Center will be given a thorough cleaning after Friday, May 13th. Any personal possessions found anywhere on our property will be disposed of. No use of our Campus facilities by anyone during the summer months. This helps keep our expenses down since so few students are on campus during the summer quarter. God's blessings to all our students during Finals Week - May 9 through 13th. Congratulations to all our graduates. God bless you mightily in your chosen vocations.

Chapel Updates 4-19-2011 |
We have Bible Study tomorrow, Wednesday, April 20 from 12:20 to 1:00 P.M. Lunch begins about 11:30 A.M. Hanover Lutheran Church is scheduled to serve the meal. There is no Divine Worship this coming Sunday, Easter Sunday, since most students are at home with their parents. Our next Sunday afternoon worship is Sunday, April 24th, 5:00 PM with Holy Communion and supper after. We ask that our students do not use our Student Center facilities during the Easter break. This helps to keep down our expenses since lights that are left on and at times toilet facilities that do not always shut off add up to dollars, big dollars at times. Please remember to cover the pool table after you use it. Lately, it has become a regular thing far too often for students to use the pool table and not cover it when they are finished. Let's take good care of it. Please remember to turn off the proper lights and to lock the computer/library door if you are the last person out of the student center at any time. This last semester is quickly winding down. A couple of more weeks and finals will be history. If you have left any personal items on our premises, please take them with you. Everything you have left on our property needs to be out by Saturday, May 14th. Thanks for taking care of this matter. Locks will be changed at the end of the semester and your key to the back door and computer/library room will no longer work after Saturday, May 14th. Have a blessed Easter! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Because He lives, we too shall live eternally. In Christ Jesus, Pastor Dissen, Rev. 2,10b

Special thanks today to the LWML from Immanuel Lutheran in Perryville for providing our lunch for us. We want especially to thank Alice Hacker and Nancy Wills for bringing the food down to us and serving it. Your labor of love is much appreciated.Sunday Divine Worship this coming Sunday, April 3, 5 PM with Holy Communion and supper after the service. Meet next Wednesday for lunch from 11:30 A.M. until 12:25 P.M. Then we gather in the Chapel Sanctuary to continue our special Mid-Week Lenten services under the general theme of FOLLOW JESUS. We received the good news yesterday that Patrick and Bethany Grandt (nee: Bethany Thies) who now live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa became the proud parents of a healthy baby girl---born yesterday, Tuesday. Patrick and Bethany were both very actively involved in our campus ministry during their time at SEMO, met at our Campus Ministry at SEMO, became engaged and married. The name of their daughter is Kaylie JoAnna Grandt. Please keep all of them in your prayers, and especially Kaylie as she awaits the re-birth from above in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism by which she become a child of Christ's family and an heiress of eternal life in heaven. Thanks today to Jared Mueller for taking out the trash and to Travis Gerlach for putting in a new liner. Thanks also today to David Debowey for all that he does for our campus ministry. He is faithfully present for almost all our Sunday services to serve as acolyte and usher, and also to do the same for our Mid-Week Lenten services. David, your service to us is much appreciated. You are a real blessing to us. Also, this week we received a very generous check from David and Natalie Ibendahl in Illinois who wanted us to use their check to help pay for meals when we have no volunteers to provide them. They said they would love to serve a meal for our students once in a while but it is too far for them to drive over. They are very appreciative, as parents, for what our campus ministry means to their daughter. We express our sincere thanks to them for this most thoughtful gift. Their daughter, Jessica, is very actively involved and a tremendous help to us. Thanks so much, David and Natalie. And thanks to you, Natalie, for continuing to send out thank you notes to those who serve our meals.

Our thanks today to Bev Lewis for providing a very tasty lunch for everyone present. The chicken and dumplings were a big hit, as was the rest of the meal. Thanks, Bev, so much for once again taking care of our students. It is appreciated.Mid-Week Lenten services were held at the Chapel from 12:30 to 1:00 P.M. All our students who eat lunch with us are encouraged to join us for this special opportunity to FOLLOW JESUS on His way to Calvary. How blessed we are the Jesus did not desert us and turn away from us but willingly tasted death for our sins. Far too often we are guilty of turning our back on Him and despising the blessings that He offers us in Divine Worship and in Bible Study. This coming Sunday we have Divine Worship at 5 PM with Communion and supper after the service. Next Wednesday we meet for lunch about 11:30 AM and then remain for Divine Worship at 12:30 P.M.
