Wayne Sager’s birthday on Sept. 19 was recognized and Glen & Margot Hendricks Sept. 4 anniversary was recognized.

Pastor Schroeter presented the topic titled “Happiness can be yours” based on
I Timothy 6:8 & 9. He then had the opening prayer.

Secretary called roll. 19 members and 1 visitor were present.

Secretary read the minutes, which were approved without correction.

The Secretary made treasurer reports for the past two months from information provided by Treasurer Al Hempel.

President reported that he would be making a presentation at the Lone Star District Convention to try to increase the number of LHM Ambassadors. He advised that the Lone Star District has 345 congregations with 103,000 members but only 31% have Ambassadors.

Committee reports:
Christmas Party—Don Fraker reported that everything is in place except tickets. Tickets will be available at the next meeting.

Old business:
§ Sign for frontage on Common Street: It is still at Bill’s shop. Waiting for Glen to investigate the possibility of galvanizing. Will proceed after decision is made.
§ Fall fund raising event. All agreed that it would be hard to find a good time with all the school and holiday functions. Committee of Bill Woeckner, Bob Gwyn & Jack Sevcik was appointed to determine when and for what a benefit should be held.
New business:
§ Fall school Festival that Todd Wood had talked to the group about earlier in the meeting. Don Fraker made a motion that the Men’s Club serve food for the event. Bob Gwyn seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
§ Nominating committee appointed: Bill Woeckner, Bob Gwyn & Jack Sevcik.
§ Bill Woeckner suggested that the Men’s Club consider buying a new scale for the Nurses Ministry. He advised that the height measure was broken on their present scale. No action was taken at this time because there is no urgency.
§ Bob Gwyn delivered a message from Al Cook that was a request for money to support Bible Outreach. Bob then made a motion that we send $100 to Paul Seiler for Bible Outreach. Motion seconded by Bill Woeckner. Motion passed.
