First Lutheran Church was organized on March 7, 1910. The first building used by the congregation was the United Brethren Church in Glenville. This building no longer stands but the Methodist Episcopal Church, which was later rented by the congregation, is presently used by the Glenville United Methodist Church. On February 5, 1914, plans to build a church of its own were discussed by the congregation, but action was not taken until 1919. The church was dedicated on June 5, 1921.
On May 19, 1963, groundbreaking services for a new educational unit were held on the present church property. The new unit was dedicated on November 17, 1963.
When worship services increased to three per Sunday, the congregation made plans for a new worship center and fellowship hall. During construction, services were held at the Glenville Elementary School.
The first service in our present building was held on June 2, 1974, Pentecost Sunday. A procession from the school to the church and a "Birthday Party" highlighted the day. The building was dedicated on September 15, 1974.
