In the Mid 1970's Members of different Lutheran congregations began talks about starting a church in the east Spokane Valley. By September 7, 1980 The newly formed East Valley Lutheran congregation held its first worship service in the Otis Orchards Elementary School Library. February 15, 1981 was the date this congregation officially began as East Valley Trinity Lutheran Congregation. Our congregation's name was changed to PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH later that year.
On October 4, 1981 our first pastor Daniel R. Comsia was installed, and on October 31, 1982 there was ground breaking for our own building. The first service was held on Christmas Eve December 24, 1982. By 1984 our congregation counted 247 baptized members. Pastor Comsia was with us until the spring of 1988.
Dennis N. Hickman, a recent seminary graduate was ordained and installed as Peace's second pastor on August 20, 1989. Pastor Dennis served our congregation until September of 1993 when he transferred to Oregon.
Pastor Dennis B. Andersen was installed as our pastor on December 11, 1994.
May of 1995 we held ground greaking for our building addition to add a narthex, pastor's office, conference room, and nursery. In October of 1996 we celebrated our 15th Anniversary and dedicated our completed building addition.
