Sunday, Feb. 4 - Fifth Sunday after Epiphany We will commune at the altar, using our traditional service order.
Sunday, Feb. 11 - Sixth Sunday after Epiphany Our traditional service will include a time for healing prayer and anointing.
Sunday, Feb. 18 - Transfiguration Sunday Our Contemporary Service will beour order for worship on this Sunday. A special offering for the LSS homeless teen ministries will be taken. Judie Gemuenden, a volunteer at the Renaissance House, will be our guest.
Sunday, Feb. 25 - The 1st Sunday in Lent We will worship with our Bread of Life Celebration service, communing by intinction.
On Sunday, Feb. 18, we will be holding up the crucial ministry of Lutheran Social Services.
We can be truly proud of our Social Service agency, which maintains ministries of all kind for people in a variety of vulnerable or needy situations. Our congregation will take a special offering on this day to support the Renaissance House/Street Outreach programs of LSS in Duluth, aimed at homeless teens. These teens come from Duluth, the Iron Range, and the North Shore. The Renaissance House provides supportive housing for homeless youth, ages 16-21. The 24 hour program staff provides guidance and support for the youth as they develop independent living skills. The Street Outreach provides street based outreach services to homeless, run-away and street involved youth.
Lenten Evening Services 2007
This year, we will again share with Bethlehem, Emmanuel , and United churches in our evening Lenten worship. The theme for our services this year is: “Songs and Stories” We will be focusing each evening around a particular favorite hymn, reflecting on the stories of those who wrote and composed the hymn, as well as the Biblical stories that are in the background of the content of the hymn. As we did last year, we will hold the services, preceded by supper, on Wednesday evenings. We will meet at 5:30 PM for a simple meal, and worship will begin at 6:30 PM. Confirmation students are required to attend these services, in place of their usual Wednesday evening classes The Ash Wednesday service will be a traditional service at 7 PM, and does no include a meal.

Feb. 21- Ash Wednesday, 7 PM, Emmanuel(no meal)
All of the following begin at 5:30 PM with supper, then a 6:30 PM Lenten service.
