Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation

The Annual Meeting of the Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation (SALHF) Board was held February 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Swiss Alp Sunday School Building. Elected to the board of Directors were Gina Minzenmeyer and Wallace Brown
The Officers were elected as follows: Gina Minzenmeyer, President, Gale Lincke Vice President, Sandra Smith Secretary and Les Koether Treasurer. Wallace Brown, James Hatfeild, Walter Hildebrandt and Pastor Lemae Higgs are board members.
We had many exciting things happen this year for the foundation. This year, the members of our congregation continued to support our Lenten appeal, with donations totaling over $1100.00. We concluded the appeal with providing a meal on April 5, 2006. We were again privileged to sponsor the Rally Day with hot dogs and homemade ice cream for the Sunday school kids and their parents. We decided to have a drive through dinner. With all of the wonderful support of the congregation we raised an additional $1100.00 to add to our endowment fund. In 2006 memorials and honors continue to increase our endowment fund by over $1100.00. We have been truly blessed by your generosity.
Our foundation now has a total of 73,235.41 in assets. With interest earned we were able to give gifts to several area churches as well as continuing to give to the General Fund of the Church. We gave $2500.00 to United Evangelical Lutheran, Swiss Alp, $500.00 to St. John, New Ulm, $500.00 to St. John Lutheran, Ellinger, and $1000.00 to St. Paul Runge. We, the directors feel we are starting to fulfill the intent of our foundation, which is to help our church as well as others in need. For this we are truly grateful.
We look forward to next year as we keep working to help the United Evangelical Lutheran Church as well as the larger church. I thank you for your support as without it, we would not be able to accomplish anything. Please join us at our meetings as they are open to the public and we welcome all thoughts and comments.
