About St James
	Started as a Lutheran mission for the east side of Lebanon in 1904, St James Church was later organized as a congregation at its present site at Chestnut & Second Streets. St James is a congregation of the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Lutheran Church holds that the Gospel is God's revealing of his holy will and saving grace in Jesus Christ. Lutherans believe that the Small Catechism of Martin Luther and the Augsburg Confession of 1530 are true interpretations of the holy scriptures and the Christian faith.
