Winter Events

Our Sunday Morning Kids Club is underway! We invite children ages 3 through 8th grade to register for our free club. Please contact the church office at 630-766-2838 for more information.

Each quarter we undertake a mission project. In the Winter we will donate our offerings to Coins for CareNet, as our congregation is also participating in this collection. CareNet is a crisis pregnancy center in Wood Dale.

Calvary holds a special Chrildren's Christmas Service on Sunday, December 18, at 9:00 am. Our SMKC children acolyte, usher, read and sing during the service. A Christmas reception follows the service from 10:15 until 11:00 am. Due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, there will be no SMKC on December 25 and January 1. Classes resume on January 8 with a study of the ministry of Jesus. On Sunday, February 12 we invite our children to "Bring a Loved One to Church" during our SMKC time. There will be special treats for all the children, parents and grandparents who attend.

Reformation Celebration
Calvary celebrated Reformation Sunday on October 30 with an intergenerational Reformation Celebration. Martin Luther visited us and read some verses from Romans. The adult and older students engaged in a lively Reformation Trivia Game while our younger students colored pictures of Martin Luther and his seal and played an exciting game of "Pin the Thesis on the Cross." We concluded our celebration with some German snacks.
