Weekly Reports
May 16-23:

Phil and Jean went fishing for and hour and caught 27 nice Crappies (see photo). Bruce and Janet came on Monday and fished for two hours and got 26 Crappies from the same area. Tom O came up and fished all afternoon and we joined him in the evening. More success catching Crappies. The Blue Gills are starting to come up. Tom caught five nice ones.


The Crappies were really biting the week of May 16th. Here are 27 we caught in less than an hour on the 16th.
We had friends fishing here for parts of three days this week. Everyone had fun and caught lots of fish, mostly Crappies. By Sunday the 23rd the Bluegills were biting and several large ones were caught. Phil and Bethany fished another favorite spot on Sunday afternoon and found that the Bluegills there were already spawned out. This is about two weeks early, at least.
Week of May 24- 30:

May 25th: Phil and Jean went our for about two hours and got three Crappies and the 16 Bluegills.We caught a lot of Sun Fish which we threw back and several female Bluegills which weren't spawned out.

May 27th: Phil and Jean went out in the early evening. We kept 26 big Bluegills. Jean caught two feisty 15" Bass and Phil caught one smaller one. The season isn't open for Bass yet so we threw them back.

May 28th: Phil went out by himself early in the morning and got 20 big Bluegills in short order.

May 31st: Phil went out by himself in the morning and caught 21 big bluegills in about an hour. In the late afternoon Bruce came up and they caught about 20 more. The Lake had very heavy pressure this weekend due to the holiday and the unbelieveably good weather. Some areas seem to be getting fished out. There were seven different boats my "our" stump yesterday.

June 1-15: Fishing really tapered off. They are spawned our and we had to fish pretty hard to get many. The Bass were active and we caught several and released them. Spring fishing is over but we will still go out and get a meal worth here and there.
