Trinity was founded in 1898 when the Minnesota prairie was still a difficult and dangerous place to live. In the early days of its formation (1889-1898), the missionary pastor from St. John's (Rev. Henry Vetter) would stay with some of the earliest future members in their underground "homes" and sod houses as he sought to provide spiritual support and encourage the formation of a congregation. At times, he would take children to live with him for short periods at his home in Montevideo so they could be instructed in the Christian faith. The first simple church building was built in 1898. In 1941, the members bought a vacant church building located near Wegdahl and used the material in the construction of the present church building which was dedicated on the day Pearl Harbor was bombed (Dec. 7, 1941). The dedication was delayed until afternoon so a special prayer service could be observed instead. In 1951 one of few pipe organs in Southwest Minnesota at that time and surely the first in a small rural church was installed. It is still in use today. While many things in our lives and community have changed over the decades of our congregation's existence, Jesus Christ remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Besides worship and Sunday school we also have an active Ladies' Aid (LWML) group, hold a large Vacation Bible school each June, and enjoy other opportunities for Christian fellowship and service.

2011 VBS was held June 13-17, 6:30 - 8:00 pm with about 35 youth in attendance.
