PHYLLIS EGGERS is currently organist, worship coordinator and accompanist at Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Estes Park. Beginning at the age of 6, Phyllis studied classical piano until she began organ lessons 10 years later. With over 50 years of experience as church organist and accompanist she has served various denominations including Episcopal and Methodist but has primarily served in the Lutheran Church. Phyllis has toured Europe with the Resurrection Lutheran Church Choir of Tucson, Arizona as organist and accompanist and has accompanied community chorales in New York, Texas and Arizona. Most recently she has toured historic English Organs playing 10 of them over an 8 day period.
|  | LOREN JOHNSON at the age of six years, he began piano lessons, and at the age of ten, he began trumpet lessons. (Loren has been playing the trumpet 68 years). Loren also began singing in the adult choir at the American Lutheran Church when he was twelve and sang during college.He went to college at South Dakota State University where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education as well as an ROTC commission in the U. S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. It was at SDSU that Loren met Lynette where both played in the college band. They were married in 1957. Loren entered the U. S. Air Force in 1959 and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel by the time he retired in 1987. During his 29-year Air Force career, he served on active duty as an Air Force bandleader, the last 14 years as commander and conductor of the Strategic Air Command Band at Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, NE. During his AF career, he directed command performances before presidents of sixteen nations, performed in ceremonies for seven U. S. Presidents, and led AF band tours in all Central and South American countries, Canada, Bermuda, Guam, and Alaska. Loren continues to enjoy his career in music and directs or plays in 14 vocal and instrumental musical groups in Estes Park, Denver, and Omaha and performs in annual “big band” cruises on various cruise ships.
