OUTREACH |
CAMPUS MINISTRY
Mt. Olive sponsors the Lutheran Student Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Campus Ministry Coordinator and support from the circles and members of the congregation. Weekly Bible study is held at Luther House as well ongoing friendship, fellowship, rides to Sunday worship, and extra social events. |
FOOD SHELF
The Mt. Olive Food Shelf is open to anyone in need. The available items are provided by all members of the congregation. The Food Shelf is coordinated by members of the Sarah Circle. |
LAKE SUPERIOR LUTHERAN PRESCHOOL (LSLEA)
Mt. Olive supports the LSLEA financially and through membership on the Board of Directors.
Mission Statement: Each child will grow in body, mind, and spiritual understanding with the teaching of God's grace and the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.

MORNING BIBLE STUDY
Bible Study meets at 7 a.m. every Tuesday at the Perkins on London Road. Everyone is welcome! |
LIFE LIGHT BIBLE STUDY
The LifeLight Bible Study meets at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evenings at the Church. Contact the Church office for information on the topic of study and study books available for purchase. Everyone is welcome! |
PRAYER CHAIN
The Prayer Chain groups pray on behalf of the members of Mt. Olive, their families and the friends. We pray about each request and trust God to answer according to His own way and time. We have morning, afternoon, evening, and e-mail prayer teams.

CHURCH LIBRARY
The Church library contains books, videos, tapes, DVD's, audio tapes, and reference materials for use by the members. Greeting cards and napkins for various occasions are also available for purchase. |
ALTAR GUILD
Members of the Altar Guild prepare the Lord's supper each week and maintain the communion supplies. This is a vital part of our worship at Mt. Olive. |
HANDCHIMES ENSEMBLE
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. during the months of September through May. Everyone is invited! No musical experience is required to have a great time making beautiful music. |

ACTIVE CHRISTIAN TEENS (ACT)
The Goal of Mt. Olive's ACT is to praise and serve God through friendship, fellowship, and outreach.

LUTHERAN WOMEN'S MISSIONARY LEAGUE (LWML)
LWML is a missionary organization for the women of the Luther Church-Missouri Synod. We collect mites (coins) through the women's circles to be distributed to the various missions supported by the LWML.

CRADLE ROLL
Members of the Cradle Roll send cards to newborns and children up to four years of age. Whenever a member's child is baptized, he/she is added to the cradle roll. |
KITCHEN COMMITTEE
Members of the Kitchen Committee coordinate cleaning, stocking, and supplying of the church kitchen that is available for all groups and members of the church. |
BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE
The Bereavement Committee prepares and serves lunch after a funeral, if so desired by the family. Members of our church donate bars and help prepare, service, and clean up after the meal. |

CIRCLES |
HANNAH CIRCLE
The Hannah Circle meets at 9:30 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month. Each meeting is opened with a Bible study, mite box devotion, and collection. Cards are sent to the children on the Cradle Roll. We do other outreach activities such as making greeting cards for shut-ins and visiting them, mitten tree for the Kids' Closet, and more. New members are always welcome. |
LYDIA CIRCLE
The Lydia Circle meets at 12:00 noon the first Thursday of each month from April through December. We have a devotional meeting followed by Christian fellowship. Activities include the Mite program, supporting Bethesda Lutheran Home, a Christmas luncheon for all members of the church and their friends, a cookie sale, and a summer potluck luncheon. New members are always welcome -- join us for lunch and our meetings. |
PRISCILLA CIRCLE
The Particular Circle meets the first Monday of the month from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Church library. The goal of the Circle is to promote the availability and use of Christian based materials for all ages. |
QUILTING CIRCLE
The Quilting Circle meets at 9:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. We make as many quilts as we can and give them to member graduates, members in need, CHUM, Lutheran Island Camp, etc.
An evening quilting group meets the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. No experience is necessary. Contact Carol Walczak if you are interested and have questions. |
REBECCA CIRCLE
Members celebrate their Christian faith through devotions at their meetings. They celebrate the love of Christ by giving to others gifts of food, money, time, and talents. They celebrate their all-inclusive love of our Savior by reaching out to others. They celebrate God's love by caring for all fellow Christians at Mount Olive. Everyone is welcome to the Rebecca Circle meetings. Meeting times vary; see the newsletter, bulletins, or contact the church office for information. |
SARAH CIRCLE
The Sarah Circle meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month from September to May. The main focus of the Circle is community service. Activities include Mt. Olive's Food Shelf, "busy bags" for children to use during the worship service, suppers to UMD students during finals, and various collection projects to support groups in need. Women of all ages are welcome to our meetings, as well as their children. |
