On August 23, 2009 we welcomed Ms. Vanessa Lehmann to the Crown of Life family. For those of you that don't know, she blew down after the storm to help with cleanup and then rebuilding. Earlier this month she and another member, Mark Baker became engaged. We wish them the very best. On a sad note; Vanessa's grandfather passed away this week. (He was Pastor's music professor and band director in college.) She will be traveling to Wisconsin for the funeral. Please remember their family in your prayers. |

Please take a look at our video.
I believe it is a good introduction into the life and membership of our church. The Lord has blessed our congregation in many ways. It is my hope that we can convey to you the gratitude that we have for our Savior and the fellowship that we enjoy in him. Thanks for joining our website and watching our video.

We have seen the mighty hand of God |
"We have seen the mighty hand of God among us and it is marvelous in our eyes. Last year a hurricane came along and destroyed our church and scattered our members across the country. It was over. But God reached down with His mighty hand and touched us. He healed our church. He did it the way he apparently likes to do things like this, through His people. And you, His people, responded in overwhelming fashion. (Our God doesn’t do things half way) Through you, your gifts, time and prayers, our fellowship hall, parsonage and chapel have been rebuilt and many of our members have been helped to come home. You have been the hand of God among us. We have seen it and it is marvelous in our eyes. For that we thank you." Pastor DaveThe home of our church flooded with 4 feet of water after hurricane Katrina. Although our buildings bowed to the weather, the spirit of our congregation soars. The mission of Crown of Live has just begun and will no longer be postponed. |

104 souls strong on reentry day, August 20, 2006. |
Flooded and once again risen!
Members of our Synod from all over the nation were coming down to New Orleans to help in our cleanup and rebuilding effort. These people are freely giving their time and talents not to earn a place in heaven, but as a thank offering. Without the chains of working for righteousness they come to help us as a means of giving thanks to our redeemer, Jesus Christ for the gift of forgiveness and eternal life.
We reopened the Sanctuary August 20 and rededicated on October 29! The reopening was one year after the last service before evacuating from Katrina and the rededication was one year after rebuilding began! Come down and join us!
