Christ Lutheran Church was founded in 1864 and has been an integral part of the worship life of Mahanoy City ever since. We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and we are located in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA. Mahanoy City is located in the northern part of Schuylkill County and we are proud to continue to celebrate our Anthracite Coal Region heritage. | |
2 worship services weekly with Holy Communion celebrated at each: +6:30PM Saturdays with Rev. Andrew J. Stauffer (Rev. Crawford during 2nd Saturday each month) with a hiatus in the winter until Easter Vigil +8:30AM Sundays with Rev. Fred T. Crawford, III (ftc3@ptd.net) + Confirmation (grades 7-8) classes, Holy Communion Classes, and Sunday School (preschool-grade8), and a women's group, the Lutheran Daugthers, open to all women of the congregation. + Sunday School follows the 8:30am Sunday church service + We invite you to join us for worship. We are a warm, welcoming church centered around the proclamation of the Word and the celebration of the Sacraments with Jesus Christ being the heart of all we believe and do. |

We wish Pastor Stauffer a speedy recovery! Please note that Saturday services are on a hiatus for the winter while our Pastor heals. Saturday evening services will begin again at Easter Vigil. | |

Lenten Services |

Ash Wednesday will begin our mid-week Lenten services on Wednesdays at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate with the Holden Evening Prayer Service. |

Sunday School begins again, Sunday Feb 21, after the 8:30am service. Also, let your Sunday School teacher know if you would like to join the Junior Choir. | |

Meetings |
Congregation Council - @ 7pm March 1, April 26, May 31, June 28, Juyly 26, August 30, Sept 27, November 1, Nov 29, Dec 27.Annual Congregation Meeting was held January 17th. Carpet samples were reviewed and voted on, council members elections replaced 3 of 4 members, and the annual budget was reviewed and approved. | |

Annual Church Picnic |

Sunday, June 27th at Noon - bring your appetite and fun! The location is tentatively Grier City Playground. If we know that attendance will be low, we may go to a congregation member's house for the event. |
