APPLICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The mission statement for Green Lake County is:  To improve the quality of life of county residents, their families, and communities by assisting with solutions of recipient needs that focus on financial assistance, wellness, and caring for others.

Thrivent Financial adds financial support to volunteer projects and/or fund-raising activities conducted by local Thrivent members to benefit individuals, families, and qualified nonprofit organizations. The Chapter Board is currently awaiting applications from non-profit organizations  and/or benefits for individual needs.  Identify a need, create a service team of six Thrivent Financial households, request funds from the chapter using available request packet, publicize and conduct the activity and report the results to GL County Chapter Board.

Applications must be presented in person at the Board meetings prior to the activities being held.  Application packets are available from current board members.  Our meetings are held the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30pm and located at the National Bank which is on the corner of Hwys 49 and 23.

CURRENT EVENTS
Our Events Director is busy setting up activities for the Green Lake Thrivent members to attend.
We planned a Sunday Brunch event for March 8 for the Congregational Coordinators to show them our appreciation for all the hard work they have done and continue to do.  Our next activity is an educational seminar entitled "Economic and Investment Update" which will be presented by Noah Hendricks.  A "Thrivent Night at the Brewers" is being sponsored by Thrivent Builds Habitat for Humanity on May 30.  We will be offering discounted tickets.  Look for information notices to follow. If you have an idea for an activity that you think the other members would enjoy attending please call Steve and let him know.  We often are able to offer discounted tickets.

JOIN HANDS DAY
The Annual Join Hands Day is sponsored by America's benefit societies, including Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and is designed to generate awareness about the impact of grassroots volunteerism.  It encourages youth and adults to come together to improve their communities while building lasting friendships across generations.  Green lake County has funds for activities conducted between April 1 and June 30.  Call a board member for applications.

ECONOMIC AND INVESTMENT UPDATE SEMINAR
Our Financial advisors, Noah Hinrichs and Dave Shattuck, will hold this seminar at the Town of Brooklyn Town Hall in April.   The town hall is located on County Road A just south of State Road 23.  They have lots to share!   Enjoy your dessert and coffee on us!  Notices with the specifics will be sent soon.  We are planning on seeing you there.
