SUMMER FUN AT THE BALL PARK & BOWLING ALLEY
We hope that you have enjoyed your summer and that you may have joined us for one or both of our ball games!  We were pleased to offer a Brewers Game at reduced prices on May 30 at Milwaukee's Miller Park to celebrate Thrivent Builds night and which the Brewers won!  We had over sixty members from Green Lake County join 3,000 other Thrivent members that night.  Before the game, the public could tour a multi-media exhibit about substandard housing created by Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity. That evening Thrivent Financial presented $2.7 million to Habitat for Humanity in Wisconsin.


On July 10th, we doubled our Green Lake attendance at the Timber Rattlers game in Appleton again at reduced prices, where we also saw a Rattlers victory!  Thrivent Financial treated everyone to a before-game BBQ with beverage and dessert. All went home with a Rattlers apron.   After the fireworks, the Rattlers lighted up the field and invited all the kids to come and run bases.  What a thrilling sight and what a great night!   Look for announcements next year for possible repeats of this all American past time!  


On June 28th, our youth director planned a bowling event at Prairie Lanes, Markesan for our youth... Although attendance was low, our hosts at Prairie Lane were "wonderful" and spirits of our youth were high.  We are hoping to repeat this again next year, perhaps earlier in the year.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
Funds are still available for application by non-profit organizations holding 501(c)3 status or for benefit events.  Application packets are available from any of our directors.  Contact persons must be a Thrivent member,  and are asked to present their application in person at a Chapter meeting prior to their event.


Chapter meetings take place on the third Monday of months, January through November, at the lst National Bank on the corner of Hwys 23/49 at 6:30 p.m.  However, there will be no meeting in October as the annual election meeting will be held on October 26.

COMING: ANOTHER HOLIDAY EVENT FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT
We are again happy to offer you some holiday entertainment at Chapter-reduced prices! We have reserved a block of tickets at the Crystal Grand Theatre in Wisconsin Dells on Sunday, December 6th for a 3:00 P.M. performance of the OAKRIDGE BOYS. Look for a special flyer to follow.  Reserve your tickets as soon as possible to take advantage of this special offer.

ANNUAL ELECTION DINNER MEETING COMING UP! MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
Green Lake County Chapter will be holding their Annual Election Dinner meeting on Monday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m. at the Manchester Activity Center in Manchester.  We look forward to another big crowd and will have a musical presentation by Dan Braaksma along with a short Economic and Investment update by our Financial Representatives, Noah Hinrichs and Dave Shattuck.  Dewey Lynch will also be present. Many door prizes will be awarded as in the past.   Look for more information on a special flyer to follow.


All positions on your Chapter Board are open for election for one-year terms starting January l and ending December 31st!   Three people are retiring from the board -  Judy, Carol and Jessica (who just had her first baby).  Unless key positions are filled, Green Lake Chapter will not receive any Care abounds funds for 2010.  We would appreciate your giving these volunteer positions some thought....  Please call on any board member for further information.
