On April 27, 2006 Thrivent’s Dwala Smail conducted a brief orientation session for our Congregational Coordinators at United Church of Christ Lutheran Church in Dellwood. A light supper followed. Thank you, Dwala. We also send our appreciation to all of our Congregational Coordinators for their work.
Join Hands is this year’s special 2006 project for all of Thrivent’s volunteers. In order to help the sections in the town of Big Flats burned out in last year’s devastating fire, helpers purchased and replanted thousands of trees. More planting is needed, but what a nice start. For the rest of Join Hands funds, Adams will have a project to get books in the hands of Adams County youngsters.

In preparation for the annual meeting this Fall, the Adams County WI Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is seeking volunteers. The Adams County WI Chapter Board of Thrivent Financial consists of 10 positions. The Board is currently seeking volunteers for some of the following functions: Conducting the nomination process. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, planning calendars and meeting minutes; completing necessary non-financial reports. Overseeing the financial activity of the chapter. Encouraging member engagement through formation of service teams in congregational settings. Supporting communication efforts for chapter and service teams. Encouraging member involvement through the formation of community service teams. Planning volunteer recognition and related events. Involving youth in service/learning projects and programs at educational sites. Why would you volunteer to help do this? Maybe you want to spend time with people who have similar interests and values, or to help a family member, neighbor or friend.
