Thrivent members from every Lutheran congregation in Adams County met for fellowship, prizes and fun. Friendship Brass entertained us. Anna Larsen provided pulled pork/beef with all the tasty trimmings. Some people met new Thrivent members; others enjoyed old friends. Thrivent’s Steve Schultz summarized our volunteering results and future plans. This year the Adams chapter contributed over 15,000 volunteer hours and raised more than $40,000 for needy County people. Many received great raffle prizes.

Adams Chapter has nearly spent this year’s funds but will get more funds for 2009. Do you know of needy families/ causes who could use fund raisers and volunteer help? Somewhat urgently, we are looking for volunteers this Fall to help scrape and paint the home of a lady recovering from severe illness. Got a few free hours?
