| JOIN US FOR A CELEBRATION OF THE ART OF FAITH |
On September 23, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans & its local members are hosting Christian performing artist Mike Lewis, the "Jesus Painter", who uses his gift to communicate the message of Christ in a dramatic presentation that demonstrates the essense of the gospel in a way never experienced before. Members enjoyed a picnic lunch including Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, pickles, chips and cookies. The event was sponsored by the Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Chapters of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Although it was extremely hot and humid, approximately 450 members came and enjoyed the picnic. The first 500 Thrivent Members to bring canned goods received free admission to the Express ball game. Donations went to "Feed My People" local food bank. 750 pounds of canned goods were collected during the picnic from Thrivent members. What an impact..thank you to everyone who donated!
Later, Jennie Childs a Thrivent associate threw out the first pitch before the Eau Claire Express took on the Rochester Honkers at 7 p.m. Thrivent Financial also donated 22 door prizes that were handed out during the game including a grand prize of a flat screen tv.
