CHAPTER ANNUAL MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT
Your Chapter’s annual meeting will be held Tuesday, November 01, 2011 at the Houston Restaurant on St. Rt. 42 west of Lebanon and east of its intersection with US 741.  As always the meeting will commence at 6:00 PM, with recognition of Congregational advocates, review of your Thrivent Financial for Lutherans chapter grants and election of your 2012 Chapter Leadership Board followed by dinner and friendly conversation.  


Seating is limited so please RSVP by Wednesday October 26, 2011 to Kathy or Will Lapp Chapter Financial Director at  WandKLapp@aol.com or 937-746-8171.  Please include the names of all attending, phone number and address so we can contact you for confirmation of your attendance or if the event has to be canceled for some reason.  If you will attend and have a Thrivent Financial for Lutherans shirt, please wear it to the meeting.

SEEKING NOMINEES TO SERVE ON THE 2011 WARREN COUNTY LEADERSHIP BOARD
There are 10 board member slots, 5 of which are required to be filled for your chapter to be functional and 5 which are optional.  Each board member is elected annually.  A board member may only serve for four years consecutive years before the member has reached term limitations.  We can always use more help and new faces.


Should you be interested in volunteering a few hours each month as a member of the leadership board, have any questions or would like more detail on any of the positions please contact Will Lapp at 937-746-8171 or  WandKLapp@aol.com.  To serve on the Leadership Board you must have access to the internet and have e-mail and be a Warren County Chapter Thrivent for Lutherans member, (i.e. you must live in Warren County or have transferred your chapter affiliation to Warren County.

YOUR CHAPTER - WHAT WE DO
Chapters of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are organized geographically and bring together members to help others and help their community. Through the Care Abounds in Communities program, Thrivent Financial provides funding to members like you who form community service teams to conduct fund-raising activities and/or hands-on service activities to help individuals, families and qualified not-for-profit organizations. Contact a member of our chapter leadership board as noted in this newsletter for assistance in getting started.


In 2011 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provided the Warren Co. OH Chapter $9,860 to help people and families in Warren County that have a need. Examples include: Food Pantries in Warren Co., Children’s Christmas (clothing for indigent children), American Cancer Society, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Warren Co., MOPS, Deardoff Senior Center, Franklin/Springboro Crop Walk for Hunger and many others.


The leadership board gives preference to those projects that keep our funds in Warren County.
