The West Central MI Chapter Leadership Board wants to thank you for “Caring” for your communities and congregations. The 2005 Care Abounds in Communities® and Care in Congregations® programs were very successful.
The amount of “Care” delivered this year by the Community Service Teams came to 22 fund raisers and hands-on service activities. Supplemental funding was nearly $22,000 with over 27,000 volunteer hours accumulated. Activities for aid and assistance included a food truck, Join Hands Day community clean up and beautification, planters for homebound ministries, a servant camp for Lutheran Social Services of Michigan, Habitat for Humanity, In the City for Good, the Crop Walk, financial aid for medical expenses, back to school supplies for low income families, mission trip support for Southeast Ohio, Thanksgiving and Christmas outreach and quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
The Amount of “Care” delivered by the Congregation Service Teams came to 51 projects this year. Funding was over $27,500 to supplement over $37,000 in fundraising to improve the quality of life to those who are served at Christ Lutheran, Dr. Martin Luther, Edgewood, Faith and First Lutheran, Holton, Immanuel and Lebanon, Our Redeemer and Our Savior, Redeemer and Samuel, Saints’ James, Luke, Mark and Stephen, and Trinity Lutheran Congregations in our area.
The Annual Elections and Recognition Banquet for the 2006 West Central MI Chapter Leadership Board was held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 10, 2005 in the North Muskegon Russ' Restaurant at the Fremont exit on US 31. We want to thank all those attending and everyone who served to make a difference in your congregations and communities.
