The 3rd annual chili cook-off was held at the Lebanon Lutheran Church in Whitehall on February 27th. The proceeds went to the Thrivent Builds/Habitat for Humanity home being built on Whitehall Rd. south of Whitehall. There were 22 entries in this event with the winners being Russ Tilden – People’s Choice and Phil Kell – Judge’s Choice. This event raised $1500 from the chili cook-off, silent auction and bake sale. Our thanks to Lebanon for hosting and organizing this fundraiser. Start practicing now for your entry in next year’s cook-off. If you would like to work at the HFH home, contact Butch Coulier at 231-893-0922 or call the HFH office at 231-727-6020 for schedules and information.
The West Central MI Chapter has ordered a supply of Confirmation Crosses for local congregations. Contact Frank Hollister at 231-894-9085 or email: email@example.com if your church needs any. This was done to help congregations easily obtain them.
This event proved to be popular as about 250 members came out to enjoy some winter fun. The many activities available were ice skating, cross country skiing, sledding and of course, the Luge for those willing to try it. The local Thrivent representatives provided the food and prepared it. They say there will be some changes next year as the attendance exceeded what they planned for. We thank Ken, Tony and Marci for their support. The Lebanon Luge team generously provided the Luge training for that event. Watch for this next year and plan to take advantage of this great facility Muskegon has been blessed with.
