| West Central MI Chapter Summer Picnic and Concert |
The West Central MI Chapter of Thrivent for Lutherans is sponsoring a Picnic/Concert at the Montague Band Shell on Tuesday June 26th. The White Lake Council of Arts will present a concert at 7:00pm. The Thrivent Chapter will sponsor a picnic at 5:30pm on the grounds; pop, chips and hot dogs will be provided. Thrivent members sign-up on the attendance list as you arrive. The band shell is located at 8636 Water St. in Montague.
| Military Personnel Appreciation Picnic |
Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall is sponsoring a Military Appreciation Picnic on July 21st in the afternoon. There will be a special service to show appreciation and support for military families. The event will include food, music, and outdoors sports activities. Watch for further information for this event in your church bulletins and your local newspapers. The West Central MI Chapter is contributing to this event.
Thrivent will have a booth at the 2012 Mercy Health Seaway Run. This is the 31st annual run and will include a 5K, 15K and a Walk for Fun event. The 5K run is a mostly flat loop. The 15K run takes runners over gently rolling terrain to Lake Michigan before looping back to the YMCA. The Walk for Fun will follow the new Lakeshore Trail. Thrivent Weekend at the Muskegon Symphony: December 7th. or 8th. at 7:30 p.m. The Nebraska Theater Troupe with the symphony will be presenting "A Christmas Carole". Thrivent will underwrite part of the price of the tickets. Reservations must be in by November 24th.Your Congregational Advocate will have information on this. This celebrated adaptation by Charles Jones of "A Christmas Carol" is packed with laughter, pageantry, music and gorgeous costumes. Every memorable detail of Dickens’ 1843 same-titled novel springs to life—from spine-chilling ghosts to heartfelt renditions of traditional British carols, including “The Holly and the Ivy,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman,” and “Coventry Carol.” Crotchety Scrooge, lovable Tiny Tim and all the fascinating characters we have come to love make Charles Dickens’ enchanting story a treasured holiday event.
