At our November elections, the following members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans were voted into a position: Bev Klein, President; Bob Enloe, Vice President; Chris Bartels, Records Director; Juanita Serrato, Financial Director; Tony Soder, Congregational Service Team Director and Chuck Gehrts, Communications Director. At our last meeting these important volunteers were welcomed to the chapter system and are ready to carry on the vital task of providing leadership in our community.
2005 was a very good year for the Chapter and we were able to complete many projects that made our community a better place. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers and Congregational Service Teams for your participation. $45,328.00 was raised in our community in 2005 and we are gearing up to make 2006 a successful year also.
High on our agenda are QUILTERS. We will be providing batting for the quilting groups again this year. If there is a quilting group that is new or did not receive batting last year, please contact Dave Munger, at (206) 363-8871, to get on the list for the next distribution. We hope to have batting available by the end of March 2006.
A reminder is in order for each congregation to make sure there are three Congregational Coordinators officially registered with the home office of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. This will guarantee money will be set aside for your congregation for the year 2006. This money may be used by any group within the congregation for projects such as Lutheran World Relief School Kits, for the Sunday School, for church supplies, for janitorial supplies, for special church projects, or for projects in the community such as food banks. All it takes to access this money is six Thrivent Financial for Lutherans households and an application from your service team. We encourage every congregation to use this money each year as it does not carry over to the next year. Money not used by congregations is like Cinderella's Carriage at the stroke of midnight.....IT'S GONE.
