| CARE ABOUNDS IN COMMUNITIES® PROJECTS |
We are nearing the end of our Northeast Seattle Chapter year and many projects have been completed that have made an important impact within our community. There are four projects scheduled that we are waiting for the completion of those events. For the 2006 year, the NE Seattle Chapter was actively involved in 15 Care Abounds in Communities projects and will have dispursed $16,199 at the completion of the final project. Operating expenses have been kept to a minimum this year and we are pleased with our efficient stewardship. The Chapter leaders would like to thank you for your support. Together we do make a difference.
Most of the congregations have used the Care in Congregations funds. As of September 12, there were five congregations that still have funds remaining that can be used within the congregation or in the community. Check with your congregational coordinator if you know of a need within your church or community. Food banks are always happy to receive extra funds during this holiday season.
Thrivent Financial For Lutherans requires an election of chapter leaders each year. Elections of chapter leaders for 2007 will be held early in November, following Sunday services. Serving as a leader of the chapter is important in our community and new volunteers are needed to keep the chapter in compliance. On-the-job training is available from the current board.
A special thanks to Tony Soder for serving as a Chapter Leader. He will be leaving the NE Seattle Chapter Board at the end of 2006. We have enjoyed and appreciated his contribution to the Chapter.
