Chapter Activities in 2008
Your local chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has been very busy in 2008.  We have received and processed 18 requests for matching funds, including Hands-on projects,  plus two very successful Join Hand Day projects.  We enjoyed a very pleasant social outing at Safeco Field watching our Mariners and raised $296 for Habitat for Humanity.  The officers of Chapter 30185 would like to thank all the volunteers for time, effort and dollars spent on behalf of our Thrivent projects.




Election of Chapter Officers
Next up on our agenda is election of chapter officers for 2009.  Your local chapter is looking for new people to step forward to participate in next year's decision-making process.  There are term limits of 4 years, but elections are held each year in November.  If you are interested in joining this important work in our community for less than a full term, contact an existing chapter officer or call David Munger at 206-363-8871.  Together, we do make a difference.


Election of chapter officers will take place November 2nd and 9th, following worship services.  Your Congregational Coordinator or a Thrivent designee will handle the election form for Thrivent members and associate members.


All elected chapter leadership positions are considered “open positions” each year, even though there may be some members who have not completed their four consecutive terms.




The Need is Great
The officers of this chapter are aware of increasing needs in our community and have done an admirable job of meeting most of those needs.  If requests exceed our annual supply of funds, we encourage patience knowing there will be new funds in 2009.  We also encourage members to check whether Congregational funds have been used for 2008.  Each congregation has $1300 or $1600 available for projects and must be used before the end of the year.  Congregational funds do not carry over to 2009.  Six Thrivent households and an idea is all it takes to access these funds through your coordinator.
