NEWS FOR NORTH OREGON COAST THRIVENT MEMBERS
Early Summer : Choice Dollars Launching This will give eligilbe benefit members a voice in choosing how the Choice Dollars are designated. Beginning this summer about 30% of benefit members will be eligible to direct Choice Dollars to thousands of Lutheran nonprofit organizations including Lutheran congregations. Eligibility to direct Choice Dollars is based on a benefit member’s involvement in Thrivent Financial - via their level of fraternal benefit society product ownership and volunteer leadership.
Other highlights: 1. Congregational Coordinators position have been eliminated. There is a new position available for members to represent their church, Congregational Advocates. (Each church can have up to four.) One will act as the lead Advocate, must have email capability. 2. One of our officers (vice-president) has resigned. This position needs to be filled immediately in order to receive chapter operating funding. 3. We are attempting to have more telephone conferences than face to face meetings to save time and Thrivent funds. Our meeting dates are the fourth Wednesday of the month.
