Thank you for volunteering your time and talents in so many ways during 2005.
2006 funds will be available for new project funding beginning January 9th. Please come to the meetings, meet your Chapter Leadership members, Congregational Coordinators, and learn more about the programs the local chapter of Thrivent Financial supports... you can apply for supplemental funds to your fund raising, hands-on service activities, and other projects.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans chapters like ours give members like you a vehicle to demonstrate your care and concern for others. And three chapter Care programs provide the fuel, funding and resources, for you to deliver an even greater impact in your congregation and community: Care in Congregations®, Care Abounds in Communities® and Care in Regions®.
These three programs provide an excellent opportunity for you to help others, your congregation and your community.

| Help Others in Your Community and Congregation |
Do you know a familiy in your congregation or community who could use a helping hand? Have you seen needs in your neighborhood that continue to go unmet? Is there a nonprofit organization that could benefit from additional assistance? Care Abounds in Communities® lets you answer the "call to care" by organizing hands-on service activities and/or fund-raisers to assist:
--Individuals/families in need --Nonprofit organizations (Lutheran and non-Lutheran) established
to support individuals and/or families
When you see a need in your community, it's easy to take action to help meet that need by organizing a service team within your chapter. To qualify for funding, simply get a minimum of six Thrivent Financial member households actively involved in the fund-raising or hands-on service activity.
Once a service team is formed and activity pre-approval is received from the Chapter Leadership Board, you and other chapter and community members can plan, promote and conduct a hands-on service or fund-raising activity. Here are some ideas to help get your creative juices flowing: Decorate a room for someone that is homebound... Organize a farmer's market to sell homegrown vegetables to raise funds... Hold a "Coats for Children" drive to collect gently worn jackets for low-income families.
Be creative! Be open to new ideas! And be prepared to share in an experience that could change someone's life - maybe even your own! Please get involved today and experience the rewards of demonstrating care for your community and your congregation.
