Mid King County Chapter, Spring/Summer Projects, Election Nominations and Activities!
Attention Congregational Coordinators, Pastors and Presidents
We're getting ready for the September and October Elections already: Mid King County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Leadership Board is calling for nominations to every position on the 2007 Leadership Board. Every position needs leaders -- could you please consider asking someone face-to-face if they would represent your congregation on the Board? All they have to do is live in the MKCC area, and volunteer a few hours every month. The Mid King County Chapter Leadership Board is your representative and advocate for various program and project requests for supplemental funds.
Do you know someone with life skills that could really be put to good use at Mid King County Chapter? Please give us a call and submit their names. Here are the elected positions we need names for:
President Vice President Records Director Financial Director Assistant Financial Director Congregational Service Team Director Communications Director Community Service Team Director Youth Director Events Coordinator
To nominate your good people and submit names, or to nominate yourself, please contact anyone on the Mid King County Chapter Board (Go to: www.lutheransonline.com/midkingcountychapter), or contact Elections Committee Chair and Vice President, Loral Pritchett, 206-878-6757, loral_p@hotmail.com
Join Hands Day 2006: Volunteering along-side the generations
Three programs for joining youth and adult volunteers together in community projects were supplemented with Join Hands dollars through Mid King County Chapter this year! 1. Evergreen Lutheran High School Walk-A-Thon In-Service Cleanup Day: Students, teachers, parents and volunteers will tidy up the high school's neighborhood.
2. Resurrection Lutheran's Window Garden Restoration: Resurrection's Youth and Parents will clean up and plant new flowers, shrubs and trees in the grotto garden in front of the sanctuary.
3. Free-for-All Camp Clean-Up and Maintenance Day: Valley Camp offered a free camping weekend for everyone that joined in the Saturday work party to get the camp ready for the summer season.
Are you interested in requesting supplemental funds for your community-beneficial fund raiser, hands-on community activity, or individuals? Just ask your congregational coordinator for a Care Abounds in Communities® funding form, or go online to www.thrivent.com or www.lutheransonline.com for appropriate forms. Questions?
