| Parking Lot Sale and Summer Fun- August 2nd |
A group of Thrivent volunteers at Peace Lutheran in Covington have joined together to plan and implement a Parking Lot Sale that will help fund a wheel-chair accessible van. There will also be a Bake Sale, Face Painting, Carwash and Barbecue Lunch. Join us for the fun and support a worthy cause.
| Renton Community Choir Concert and Root Beer Floats - August 9th at 2:00 |
********Renton Community Choir will present a Concert at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 18207 – 108th Ave. SE, Renton. A service team planned this project to raise funds for the domestic projects that Puget Sound Chapter of Women of Vision does in this area. Some WOV domestic projects include Back-to-School BackPacks for needy children, efforts at Vision House in Renton, and support for Mary's Place Women's Shelter. ********Soup Bowl Floats will follow the concert - It must be summer! The Soup and Movie Program at Gethsemane Lutheran in Seattle is in need of soup bowls and other items in their kitchen. Thrivent volunteers have come together to sell Root Beer Floats to raise funds for for these items.

Getting things started 1. Identify recipient of funds or service project. 2. Form your community service team. 3. Explore your capabilities; select your activity. Making a plan 1. Request Chapter Leadership Board funding approval. 2. Plan activity logistics and details. 3. Get the word out. Do it! And Celebrate! 1. Do it! Carry out your plans to help others. 2. Celebrate completion of activity and recognize your volunteers. 3. Tell us what you did.
