| Build Our Last House on Snoqualmie Ridge. |
Meet the Beckvold Family ~ Linda and Michelle. Our East King County Lutheran Congregations are building their 2-bedroom home on Snoqualmie Ridge. The build has begun and will be completed by the end of March. Come and spend a day on this fantastic project! The Beckvold family lives in a trailer park community in North Bend and pays nearly 60 percent of their household income toward rent. Though Linda is quite handy and her home is tidy, there have been issues with mold, rats, and inefficient heat.
Linda Beckvold has been a resident of East King County for 20 years. She is the mother of 12-year-old, Michelle, and two adult daughters who live nearby. Linda is ingrained in her community and has several friends who are homeowners in Habitat’s Koinonia Ridge development. After several moves and a stay in a shelter, Linda looks forward to finally owning and caring for her very own home.
Linda and Michelle enjoy camping and reading, as well as visiting with friends and extended family. According to a Family Selection Committee member, the Beckvold family will be “an asset to the community and to Habitat overall. Linda is highly motivated with a serving spirit.”
Get a group together from your congregation to build, paint or plant! Contact Pr. Woody Carlson at 425-788-3626 or by email at woodycarlson@verizon.net.
