Aid Association to Lutherans and Lutheran Brotherhood were around a long time offering security and peace of mind through their various insurance and financial products. Many of us owned one or more of these. Just over three years ago these fraternal benefits societies merged into what we now know as Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. | SHALL WE SEEK THRIVENT BUILDS O.K. ? |
Are you familiar with Thrivent Builds? If not, visit the web site at www.thriventbuilds.com. The Gulf Coast Chapter is intrerested in seeking approval to assist Habitat For Humanity International® in building a home for a needy family in the Coastal Bend. This will require participation by Lutherans in our communities, some fund raising (about 10% of the cost), and supplying Thrivent Builds Chapter Specialists who will encourage, involve, support, recruit, handle funds and follow through. These individuals will need regular, reliable access to the internet and be familiar with e-mail, Microsoft Word and Excel. Your Gulf Coast Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is investigating the possibility of a home building in our area in the near future.
Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity needs you. If approved, we will be seeking Thrivent Builds Chapter Specialists and Congregational Champions to help make the dream of homeownership a reality for families in our community. Chapter Specialists work with interested congregations, local Thrivent Financial staff, local Habitat for Humanity affiliates and partner families to help plan Thrivent Builds Homes projects. Congregational Champions work within the congregation to help coordinate the congregation's efforts in Thrivent Builds Homes projects. Do these individuals exist in our area?
Homes are already under construction in the Texas Region in Austin, Round Rock, Northwest Harris County and Dallas. Nine more began in August, and there are more startups in September. To be included in a Thrivent Build with Habitat for Humanity, an application is to be filed soon in order to get approval. Your ideas and suggestions regarding this wonderful program are always welcome. What Thrivent Builds is all about is best summed up by this note from a Thrivent Builds homeowner:
