"CREATED FOR GOOD DEEDS "

2004 - A Rewarding Year
What an excellent year of sharing our time and gifts to help create a spirit of making opportunities happen  to serve our communities, individuals, and congregations through our Thrivent Financial Care Programs. We'll use our next Newsletter to provide a summary of what you accomplished with the help of Thrivent Financial resources!

2005 - Continuing to Grow in Good Deeds
Each of your Congregational Coordinators will be receiving information for funds available for each congregation through Care in Congregations® programs in early January. Let's do even more with our Thrivent Financial Resources in 2005. Care Abounds in Communities™ Funds will be advised at the same time so get your ideas to your coordinators or a member of the Chapter Board.
We don't see much change in our Goal emphasis for 2005 but we will provide and encourage more participation by our members in direct activity with projects or taking advantage of GIVINGPLUS, Educational benefits, Baptismal and confirmation recognition program.

With two HABITAT For HUMANITY chapters within Ft. Bend-Wharton Counties, we will target Thrivent Financial's long standing relationship for possible funding of builds in Wharton or Fort Bend County.

Our first task for 2005 will be to assure we get volunteers to assist in the building of Carby Chapel at Camp Lutherhill in Lagrange (A Care in Regions funded project in 2004).  Volunteer Teams can start getting involved in late January . Housing and meals will be provided should you wish to participate for more than one day.

Continuing a tradition to do Good Deeds

We will pass two years as the Thrivent Financial Chapter system in June 2005. To many it has been a tough transition from the LB and AAL fraternal systems. Our chapter has been blessed to work, with you, our members in making a difference in individuals, congregation and community ministries. We are just beginning to learn and leverage some of the benefits available to all of us as members of Thrivent Financial.

We will begin a process in February to educate and learn more about what is possible through Thrivent Financial's benefits of membership. We need to be able to access the benefits easily and with understanding as we move forward.

Let's find new ways and new resources to continue our tradition of doing good deeds !!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
