On December 4th, 2004, our first volunteer recognition event took place. We met at Victoria's Cafe on Memorial Parkway from 11-2 PM. We all enjoyed a wonderful lunch, and then the following churches announced their volunteer of the year. Grace Lutheran Church's, Pat Passmore, she received a $50 check and $50 went to Grace Adult Handbell , Immanuel Lutheran Church's volunteer was Harold Willenberg who received a $50 check and $50 went to Grace School Endowment, Lamb of God Lutheran Church's volunteer was Mary Kay Howard, she received a $50 check and $50 went to Lamb of God Youth, and Messiah Lutheran Church's volunteer was Jackie Myers, she also received a $50.00 check and $50.00 went to Messiah Youth. Please plan on attending next year and present your volunteers of the year. Thank you congregational coordinators for all the hard work you do for your churches.

Some events we have scheduled for 2005 are Join Hands Day, Focal Project, and Lutheran Night at the Stars. Dates have not been established, but look for news on these events.

Our local churches have raised $5,000 which will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. This will be used for Florida and Alabama Hurricane victims. They have extended this project until March 2005. So contact Rhonda Gaede if you would like to help raise money for those affected by the hurricane.
