76 Activities Approved for This Year!
The Lutheran congregations of Morris County helped to meet the needs of individuals, organizations, and groups through organizing projects, raising funds, and providing matching donations through Thrivent. As the economic climate turns dismal, putting many more people in need, it is good to know that so many have been helped with food, emergency rent and oil, housing, and medical care. These are just a few of the examples of how Thrivent reaches out to our communities, through the efforts of our congregations. Activities include fund raisers and hands-on projects, serving both our local communities, as well as people from as far away as Chad and Liberia. Among recipients are:

Liberty House
Lutheran Home for Children
Interfaith Homeless
ELCA World Hunger
Faith Kitchen
Hoboken Shelter
Pangani Lutheran Center Well
Chatham Emergency Squad
Chatham Fire Department
Crossroads Camp & Retreat Center
Interfaith Food Pantry

2009 Projects
It isn't too early to start planning activities for 2009. Talk with your church council, social ministry committee, church treasurer, and pastor about needs in your congregation, community, and elsewhere. Reach out to help others and get help from Thrivent to make it happen.

Thanks for a Wonderful 2008
Thanks to all who planned and worked on hands-on and fund-raising activities, who filled out applications and reports, who gathered volunteers, and completed projects. Without you, these wonderful projects could not have happened. Your leadership and efforts have made a difference in the lives of many people. Thrivent and the Morris County Board thank you.

Have a blessed Christmas and a wonderful new year!
