Our election meeting will be Sunday afternoon, October 4 at Camp Mowana during their Fall Festival.
Voting for Chapter officers will take place between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. We have held our election meeting in conjunction with the Fall Festival the last 2 years, and were very pleased with the attendance. We were able to elect our officers and spend an enjoyable afternoon at the camp. We also had the opportunity to be part of the camp's fund-raising auction. The Festival is definitely kid-friendly, with games, crafts, hayride, petting zoo, etc. Besides all that there is great food.
More information will come at a later date concening this event.
CAN YOU SERVE?
The Ashland/Richland Chapter Leadership Board will see some changes for the 2010 calendar year, as some officers' term limits have been fulfilled.
We currently are looking for leadership people who would be willing to fill the positions of President, Assistant Financial Director, Community Service Team Director, Youth Director. If you would like more information on exactly what these positions entail, call Doris Wanamaker 419/281-9012,
The Ashland/Richland Chapter Leadership Board is charged with the responsibility of managing and dispensing many thousands of Thrivent Financial for Lutheran dollars for area benevolent purposes. | | This year, we are again conducting the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans National Board of
Directors election through the mail. If you are a benefit member (generally the insured or
annuitant on an insurance or annuity contract issued by Thrivent Financial, or premerger
AAL or LB), you are eligible to vote and will receive the mailing. The opportunity to elect
your Board of Directors is a benefit of your membership in our fraternal benefit society.
Watch your mail in October for election materials. Please participate - your vote matters!

PICNIC AT BROOKSIDE PARK IN ASHLAND
Our first picnic is past history, and we look forward to the next one on Thursday, August 20. We were pleased to have 38 in attendance on Sunday evening, July 26. It was a pleasant evening, but the weather report drove the entertainment indoors. It was an enjoyable presentation.
Now we are gearing up for the Steel Drums on August 20. We have heard this group, and they are awesome.
We have chosen a Thursday evening for the second picnic in hopes that it will be more convenient for some. Also, we could not resist this concert.
We will eat at 6:15 p.m. Come any time after 5:00 p.m. to visit. Hot dogs, buns, condiments, soda pop and water will be provided. (Gene grilled some great dogs last Sunday.) Bring your own table service and food to share. The concert is at 8:00 p.m., hopefully in the Meyer's Memorial Band Shell. In case of bad weather there will be a rain site for the concert at the Ashland Middle School, 345 Cottage Ave., quite close to Brookside Park. The picnic will be in the shelter by the duck pond. Watch for the signs.
Only Thrivent Financial for Lutheran members receive this mailing, so see if you can get an announcement in your church bulletin. Non-member friends and relatives are welcome.
