The South Pinellas Chapter is up and running. We had our first meeting on Janurary 8, 2004. As a board we will continue to meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7PM. Our meeting place will be at Garden of Peace Lutheran Church 6161 22nd Ave N. St. Petersburg FL. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall area. Signs will be posted. Our funding for Care Abounds in Communities(TM) for the 2004 year will initally be allocated between the 14 active congregations. The amount avaliable for Community Projects will be about $1850 per congregation. Any funds not claimed by July 1, 2004 will be reallocated. As an orgnization we have an opportunity to participate in this national event. We would like to hear your ideas. It is a chance to bring youth and adults together to make a difference in our community. Please get those ideas in. For more information check the Thrivent Web site.

We want to start a tradition and want your help. Let's plan a picnic for our chapter. We are looking for your input. When, where, what. Before we get started what do you think would be fun? Please let us know your ideas. Think about, beach setting, park, spring, summer, fall, October fest, catered or cover dish. It could be a great way to get to know one another. The Chapter and Marti wants to thank you for your notes and support. Your generous donations of over $1600 allow us to provide an additional $1600 in Thrivent Financial matching funds. The assistance has done so much to help Marti get back on her feet. She looks forward to serving her church and community again very soon.
Through the efforts of thousands of people and hours we made a huge difference in our communities. A total of 44 projects we completed in our South Pinellas County Chapter last year. We spent evey dollar allocated in the 2003 budget and we are proud of it
