The South Pinellas County Chapter wants to invite all Lutherans committed to social ministries to attend this picnic. The event will be in conjunction with our annual Thrivent Financial picnic. We are looking for an opportunity of fellowship and planning for anyone who feels called to serve others in the name of Jesus. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans serves the community by providing support to volunteers through local chapters. Our chapter is seeking ways to support like-minded Lutherans. We are providing hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, beans, tea and lemonade for lunch we are asking participants to bring either chip appetizer, or desserts to share. We’re hoping to have a morning lake side Worship Service to begin at 10:00 am; visit our Chapter Web site for updated information. To get to our Web site use a Search Engine to find "South Pinellas County Chapter". Our Chapter should be the first matched result. Don't forget to add this site to your Favorites or Bookmarks. | Pinellas Habitat for Humanity |
Is your congregation doing something with Habitat for Humanity? Let us know, Thrivent Financial wants to become more involved with this organization and hopes to intentionally bring us all together to do God’s work. Lutheran Church of the Cross is participating in Lumber for The Lord. This is a simple way for their congregation to participate. Lumber for the Lord involves construction grade 2x4 and color pens. People make a donation and then write a blessing or prayer on the 2x4. That 2x4 then goes into the actual construction of the home and the donations underwrite the cost. Youth United, a partnership of youth and Habitat are raising funds this way to build a home in 2006. For more information please come to our picnic or contact Cendi Engram the Habitat coordinator at 727-536-4755.
