Thrivent Builds
The South Pinellas County Chapter’s application for one of the Florida RFO's Thrivent Builds homes for 2006 has been approved. We are so excited to be a part of Thrivent Financial's $100 million unprecedented partnership with Habitat for Humanity!
How can you help?
Become a Congregational Champion and encourage others.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with someone to build their home comes from the heart.
Leading a group of your fellow congregational members also comes from your heart.
If you are a Thrivent Financial for Lutherans member, you can lead your congregation’s efforts to join Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity by becoming a Thrivent Builds Congregational Champion.
Congregational Coordinators may serve as the Congregational Champion.
Congregational Champions work with other caring people as an important part of the Thrivent Builds Homes team as you:
1. Teach people in your congregation about Thrivent Builds.
2. Recruit volunteers for your local Thrivent Builds Homes project.
3. Coordinate fund-raising within your congregation.

Please remember that each of the Lutheran congregations with 3 Thrivent Financial Congregational Coordinators receives funding from Thrivent Financial to assist in congregational projects. Habitat for Humanity

Pinellas Habitat for Humanity and The South Pinellas County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are building a home in Midtown St. Petersburg.
The house will be a three or four bedroom concrete block home built on a donated lot at a cost of approximately $112,000.00.
Thrivent will provide 70% of the necessary funds; Pinellas Habitat 20% and our South Pinellas Chapter with the assistance of our 16 Lutheran churches of South Pinellas County will be trying to raise the last 10% of the funds needed or approximately $12,000.00. In addition, the South Pinellas County Lutheran churches will be asked to assist with at least 50% of the approximately 1200 volunteer hours to build the home. A pledge of at least 50% of the necessary funds and volunteer hours must be made 30 days before volunteers can begin working on the build site.
