South Pinellas County Chapter, Thrivent Builds Edition
ARE YOU READY????

South Pinellas County Chapter + Thrivent Financial for Lutherans + Habitat for Humanity =
                                                         THRIVENT BUILDS

May 12, 2006  volunteers from our 15 area churches will descend on 1450 12th Street, South to begin finishing a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cinder block house for Celia Gibson.  All that will be on the lot will be a concrete slab with cinder block walls - only the 4th block house Habitat for Humanity has ever built.  The house is scheduled to be a "Blitz Build" meaning that it will be completed over 5 consecutive weekends.  Ground breaking is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, the Wall Raising Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 at 8 AM with the final Dedication on Tuesday, June 20.

Cilia Gibson is a native of Liberia and has four children; Nadia (8), Patience (20), Babytee (15) and Randolph (2).  Celia and her children currently live in a 5 bedroom, two bath house where the roof and plumbing both leak. With a total of 13 people living in these overcrowded conditions, Celia wants to be able to provide a more stable environment for her children to grow up in and so they can concentrate on their studies in school. .
